Jackie Asante

Jackie Asante has over 25 years of communication experience spanning the public, private and not-for-profit sectors. Her career as a professional communicator includes independent consulting as well as more than 20 years of agency-based work and 10 years managing in-house public affairs.

Jackie has specialized in corporate communications, directing past and present campaigns for clients in the telecommunications, international biotechnology, transit/transportation, Canadian agri-business and retail sectors. Jackie has also developed and implemented large-scale communication strategies for clients in areas of Canadian law and financial services, professional sports, specialized health, unionized labour, resource extraction and municipal government/governance.

In addition to her leadership in the crafting and delivery of a wide range of communication strategies, Jackie Asante is one of western Canada’s most highly sought-after media and presentation training specialists. Over the past 20+ years, Jackie has coached hundreds of spokespersons -- from government, crown corporations and the private sector, as well as medical professionals, RCMP officers, investment bankers, security experts, and Olympic & Paralympic athletes. In addition to coaching through her day-to-day work, in her role as one of 87 provincially appointed District Electoral Officers for Elections BC, Jackie has trained over 1,000 election officials to interact with the publics they serve in her Richmond-Steveston Electoral District. This unparalleled executive coaching and training experience means Jackie can confidently prepare organizational spokespeople – at all levels of competency – to connect effectively with internal and external audiences.

Jackie Asante holds a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Communications from Simon Fraser University.
